God Loves You | Lesson 8
God Will Take Care of You
Learn this about God:
God takes care of those who obey Him. God is happy when we say, “Thank You.” We give offerings to God to say, “Thank You.”
These words are from the Bible. Read them aloud 5 times.
The rain came down . . . for forty days and nights. Until finally the water covered all the high mountains. . . . Leaving only Noah alive, and those with him in the boat. Genesis 7:12, 19, 23
I have placed my rainbow in the clouds as a sign of my promise . . . that never again will the floods come and destroy all life. Genesis 9:13, 15 (LBM)
To do as you read and study this lesson
Ask God to help you understand what you are reading. Think about the meaning of each underlined sentence.
God takes care of those who obey Him.
As the flood waters rose, the ark rose too. It floated on the waters that covered the earth. Noah and his wife with his three sons and their wives were safe in the ark.
The animals were safe too. They had food to eat: grass and hay, seeds and nuts, grains and berries. God and Noah took care of the animals.
It rained for forty days. Then God sent a great wind to dry up the earth. The waters began to go down. The ark settled down on top of a mountain and stayed there.
Noah and his family stayed in the ark until the land was dry. They stayed in the ark for a whole year. God took care of them in the ark.
Finally the earth was dry. Noah opened the door. Everyone came out of the ark into the sunshine, Noah and his family, all the animals and birds.
The elephants trumpeted for joy.
The monkeys chattered louder than before.
The lions roared and chased their tails.
Everyone was glad to be safe and out of the ark.
Think about this:
Have you ever been afraid in a storm? Who was there to take care of you? Who helped Noah save his family and the animals? Who will help your parents take care of you? Who makes the food grow so that you can eat it? Do you thank God for your food, or for taking care of you when it storms? or for keeping you safe every day?
God is happy when we say, “Thank You.”
The first thing Noah did was to say, “Thank You,” to God. Noah thanked God for taking care of him and his family and of all the animals and birds. Noah thanked God for the clean, new world to live in. Noah gave a sacrifice to God to say, “Thank You.”
God was happy because Noah said, “Thank You.” God promised Noah: “I will never destroy the earth again with water.” The rainbow is a sign of God’s promise. When you see a rainbow, remember: God will take care of you.
We give offerings to God to say, “Thank You.”
We take our offerings to God’s house. Learn this prayer to say to God when you give Him a “Thank You” offering.
